Summer of Riesling. The wine bars are packed! Oodles of people without an idea that Riesling is a grape are talking to each other about which of the some 20 wines to try. Whether they understand Organic, BioD or anything is irrelevant but they get that these are all small artisanal productions. Wines made by people. They are picking from what…5 or 6 countries, comparing, having fun, taking pictures of labels, showing up with friends. Fun is not to be overrated as marketing. Old hack, still so true.
