The long heralded, but long delayed, integration of TV and the Internet is...
– Content companies and networks are still denying the Internet and posturing but the world has already changed. For the better.

Boxee Box Review: Better Than Apple TV & Google TV... →
Detailed, unbiased, honest review of why the design, the config, the interface, the social chops and the positioning of Boxee as the smartest bridge from the web to the TV has a chance of carving out a chunk of the mainstream mass market.
The Disqus commenting system is now reaching over 200 million people a month....
– Congratulations to Daniel and all the people at Disqus!
I’m a big fan, user on three blogs and a believer that their dynamic commenting system is one key component of a successful community.

Tumblr is getting a fair amount of attention these days.
During the past year, the growth has been quite significant. Last week Erick over at TechCrunch wrote about the growth and posted this graph.
It’s amazing and a pleasure having a front row seat to watch this team in action.

Is there an iPhone wine app that really does the...
I’ve tried most of these but out and about, rarely reach for the iPhone or my iPad to get info or record my notes. What’s missing? Take a look at this list of 10 iPhone Apps for Wine Enthusiasts from Mashable and let me know:
1. Do you use any of these?
2. What’s missing from the list?
3. What do you really need in an app? Somewhere there is the perfect intersection of...
Disqus is now working as the commenting system for my Tumblr blog. I’m feeling very geeky but this is quite cool. My community of blogs are now tied together. Tumblr, my social technology blog and my wine blog are all dynamically connected. Seems just right to me.

The Digital Hollywood panel I learned the most...
A panel on ‘All Video All the Time’ at Digital Hollywood in New York yesterday justified the schlep to the Upper East Side all on its own. Debating with super smart folks who hold measured but contrary points of view is worth seeking out.
Executives from BlackArrow, Nielsen, MobiTV and StrawberryFrog appeared like a consortia for ‘nothing is changing anytime soon’ in the cable and network...
Thoughts on social media and TV networks from...
I sat in on a panel on social TV at Digital Hollywood New York yesterday. Great discussion with marketing execs from Discovery, Ad Age, TV Guide, Bravo and HBO who talked about how social media impacted their brands.
My takeaways:
- Every TV network has a social media team and agency separate from marketing and advertising. Every launch has a dedicated social media plan. Two years ago, there was...
Quick thoughts on the Boxee Box from the launch...
I really want this box to be great. Yes that is emotion over logic but I’m voting for the underdog to carve a chunk out of this huge living room market.
Can they do it?
-Box looks really cool and for all that I can see it’s put together right with the correct stuff. I loved that I can plug in a hard drive full of my own content in any format and stream that to the big screen....
Why drink organic wine? →
Over a month later and comments continue to come into this post.
An interesting recent article, N.Y. takes a new look at California wines, takes a fresh perspective at how California wines have fallen prey to old-school Parker ratings, over-extracted values and are adjusting by embracing terroir, adopting natural wine making methods and moving to a more educated European style palate.

A detailed look at the social commerce model behind Naked Wines. Great match between product and community, community and commerce model. And close to my heart, a start at making the wine industry into a referral-based economy.

– From “Logitech Revue With Google TV: The Official TechCrunch Review” by Matt Burns.
I’ll admit that I haven’t bought and used GoogleTV…and I may not. I never thought Google could bridge the gap to the mass market and this review feeds that belief.
On the other hand,...
